In the auditorium and on the roof of the French Institute baritone Tasis Christogiannopoulos interprets the work of Michael Adami A woman sheathed the sun and the five songs on poems by Constantine Cavafy Argyris Kounadi while mezzo-soprano Margarita Syngeniotou the Monologue of Dimitris Dragatakis. Music direction - piano Nikos Vassileiou. Participating musicians of the ELS Orchestra: Haris Chatzigeorgiou (violin), Nikolas Kavakos (cello,), Nikos Nikopoulos (flute), Dimitris Safarian (oboe) Theodorakos Kostas (percussion).
NEW BOOK PUBLICATION BY DR MAGDALINI KALOPANA

Dr Magdalini Kalopana presents her research on Dragatakis in the form of a book detailing the composer's life and works: Dimitris Dragatakis: Systematic and Bio-Bibliographic Works Catalogue [Systēmatikos kai Bio-bibliographikos Katalogos Ergōn]) (Athens: Nakas, 2019). The event will be hosted at the Concert Hall of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, Athens.

During this week long exhibition, we announced Dr Magdalini Kalopana's new book (Dimitris Dragatakis: Systematic and Bio-Bibliographical Works Catalogue [Systēmatikos kai Bio-bibliographikos Katalogos Ergōn]) and present a panel discussion about the publication and life and works of Dimitris Dragatakis, as well as a concert of his music and announce our new website. In the Foyer of the Conservatory, part of the archive will be exhibited including personal objects, photos, manuscripts. There will also be videos about him played during the exhibition.

Dr Magdalini Kalopana gave a lecture on 29 November in Athens, Greece about Skalkottas and Dragatakis at the "Skalkottas Today" International Conference. The conference was organised by the Music Library of Greece “Lilian Voudouri” of the Friends of Music Society, Megaron—The Athens Concert Hall, Athens State Orchestra, Greek Composer’s Union, Foundation of Emilios Chourmouzios—Marika Papaioannou, and European University of Cyprus. DIMITRIS DRAGATAKIS: CONCERTO FOR VIOLA

A lecture presented by Elyse Dalabakis at the 46th International Viola Congress in Poznan, Poland on 25 September 2019. Artur Paciorkiewicz, the violist who premiered the concerto in 1993, was present for the lecture and was invited to speak about performing the concerto and working with Dragatakis – a component which made her lecture stand out during the week. The premiere recording from 1993 was unearthed from the Dragatakis archive only earlier this year. During her presentation, she played the recording from the premiere performance – a world premiere in itself as the work had not been heard for 26 years.
Violists, professors, and educators in attendance described her lecture as a ‘Congress highlight and fascinating’.
DIMITRIS DRAGATAKIS: 100 YEARS SINCE BIRTH (2014)

The 100th anniversary anniversary of the birth of Greek composer, Dimitris Dragatakis, was successfully in illuminating all aspects of the great artist's work. The event was designed to highlight Dimitris Dragatakis' contribution, both as a composer and as a person of composition and the arts. Letters, reviews, and concert posters gave an insight into the evolution of his work over time. As well, posters and other materials highlighted the remaining important "stages" of his career, through institutions he served in: Vice President of the National Conservatory's Board of Directors (1997-2001), member of the Orchestra (1944-1969). ) and the Board of Directors of the Greek Opera (1999-2001), Vice-President and Honorary President of the Greek Musicians Association (2001) and Vice-President of the Special Concert Organizing Fund of the Athens State Orchestra (1980-2001).
IN MEMORIAM: A CONCERT IN HONOUR OF DIMITRIS DRAGATAKIS (2006)

A concert honouring the memory of composer Dimitris Dragatakis, on the fifth anniversary of his death. The concert will include three concerts for string quartet by D. Dragatakis and one work by Thodoros Antoniou.
“String quartet no. 3” (1960)
“String quartet no. 5” (1974)
“String quartet no. 7” (2001) by D. Dragatakis and
“Divertimento for string quartet (2004, dedicated to the “New Hellenic Quartet) by Th. Antoniou, in a world premiere presentation.
The works will be played by the top-rank group, “New Hellenic Quartet”.
The concert will be preceded by introductory talks from Thodoros Antoniou and Philippos Tsalahouris and music writer Thomas Tamvakos.
In tandem, there will be a sample exhibition of musical manuscripts, photographs and voice recordings by D. Dragatakis at the entrance to the concert hall – and for the day of the concert.
